ALLIANCE FORMED BETWEEN NOOSA BIOSPHERE ASSOCIATION, NOOSA PARKS ASSOCIATION, FRIENDS OF NOOSA AND EDV RESIDENTS GROUP
Committee members from Noosa Parks Association, EDV Residents Group and Noosa Biosphere Association initially formed a loose coalition dubbed the Greater Noosa Alliance. This group subsequently teamed with Friends of Noosa to form the Noosa Independence Alliance (NIA).

NIA Mission Statement
Four local associations have combined to form the Noosa Independence Alliance. We are the Friends of Noosa, the EDV Residents Group, Noosa Biosphere Association and the Noosa Parks Association. We will engage with the community to restore an autonomous local government body for Noosa and its adjacent southern communities and achieve the formation of a new, enlarged Noosa Shire.

| Achieve new boundaries that include communities of interest with Noosa that wish to be part of a new Shire, such as Eumundi, Doonan, Verrierdale and Peregian Springs. |
| Engage the people of Noosa to support “de-amalgamation” with energy and enthusiasm. |
| Consult extensively with the community to design a new council model appropriate to Noosa’s future needs. |
| Attract young, passionate and progressive leaders who can deliver a dynamic, enduringly successful Noosa Shire Council. |
| Develop a clear concept for Noosa 2030. |
NIA Vision
We have our Council back! It serves a new, bigger Noosa Shire and continues to improve the unique environment and lifestyle that makes Noosa one of the best places on the planet.
